This shift in the Nodes of the Moon is a time that I have been waiting for, as I was born with the North Node in Gemini and I get to explore myself a little more and find out how this aspect will not only benefit me, but all of us! In this article, I will explain what the Nodes are, how you can find yours and how this energy will effect the world, us personally and what we can do with this and how to benefit from it!
The Nodes are not planetary bodes, but are points formed by the Moon’s orbit around the Earth and how they intersect with the Earth’s path. They move in a counterclockwise motion. So if they are “imaginary” points, why are they so important? Well, think about how the Moon has an affect on the tides; the waxing and waning, the rising and setting creates a pull on the water on this planet and since humans and animals are made up of 60-75% water, they too are affected by the pulls of the Moon. It’s the emotions and the behavior that is affected. When the trajectory of the Nodes is in a certain position, it creates a different “feel” a different affect and it is based off of the Sign, House and Planetary trajectories.
When looking at your personal North and South Nodes, the House they reside also plays a role and provides additional energy from that House. You will need to review your astrological chart for that information. Where is YOUR North Node? Check here:
We can look at the North/South Nodes in two ways. What is the current Planetary Nodal position? Such as now, they are in Gemini/Sagittarius. We look at Gemini to see which attributes from that Sign we need to develop. We look at the South Node, Sagittarius, to discover and work on what tendencies we should leave behind. The Planet is working on the Gemini/Sagittarius theme, but personally, you are constantly working on your own North/South Node as well. In your personal chart, the South Node is where you came from; a past life if you will. The North Node is your goal or aspiration in this life. It is very easy to live in our South Node, because we have already lived that and it is easy. Now that I have been on this planet for nearly 6 decades I can say that it is finally becoming easier to live in my North Node. It takes a while. Now, the Nodes have returned to my natal placement; I have a lot of work to do – – ALWAYS! But I want to focus on these aspects on how they will effect our planet, our humanity; where we are coming from and where we are going.
What energies are are we to focus on (Gemini and Third House) and what energies are we to leave behind (Sagittarius and the Ninth House?

Attributes to Develop:
- Improve our communication- speaking AND listening
- Healthy curiosity
- Asking questions to learn how others think
- Seeing both sides of a situation
- Tact
- Logic
- Communication of internal dichotomies
- A positive approach to life and other people
- Purposely being cheerful and cheering others up
- Using a nonthreatening approach when expressing ideas
- Openess to new ideas and experiences
- Seeking factual information before making decisions
Tendencies to Leave Behind:
- Self-righteousness
- Aloofness
- Assuming others know where they are at
- Thinking one knows what others are saying without really listening
- Needing to be right
- Espousing “TRUTH” without taking others views into account
- Careless spontaneity
- Taking shortcuts
- Taking oneself too seriously; having a ponderous life approach
- Acting on intuition without fact checking
- Resisting ideas that are foreign to one’s belief system
- Prejudging present situations on the basis of past experience
It is easy to get stuck in the past (South Node) tendencies; it becomes a trap or an Achilles’ Heel, so to speak, especially if you were born with your North Node in Gemini. For this energy it is Self-Righteousness and having the need to be acknowledged for being “right” as a form of being loved and understood or possibly, having the need to have the right answers so that you will feel more connected to people or by having people value you and your opinion more. This energy can be a bottomless pit as there is not one person, idea or belief that is RIGHT all of the time or for everybody. It is more important to truly LISTEN to other people’s opinions, see other sides to ideas and beliefs and then take what feels right for the SELF and discard the need to have others’ buy into your TRUTH. If our friends and collect do have similar beliefs, that is great! But it is important to realize that we will not all agree with each other, but we can respect each other for our individualism.
The pursuit of Truth is the basic theme of the North Node in Gemini. What is true for me does not have to be true for you and we are both correct. Gemini brings the energy of jovial communication and that includes listening and speaking one’s truth, but listening is becoming more important in the coming months. Sitting with what we have heard and discerning what of that is true for us. When we practice good communication and listening skills, we all win.
Because the North Node in Gemini may have felt alone and isolated; it often has the need to speak for hours on end. The silence is maddening and therefore, I feel that we may be hearing opinions and “truths” from so many sources it may become overwhelming and we may have a tendency to tune out or disconnect and shut out the loudness. Patience will be required while we decipher what we are hearing, what others are saying and maybe reiterating what you heard so that you can understand another better?
Gemini in the North Node expects that people or information is dishonest, not truthful or there is a hidden agenda behind the information. North Node in Gemini demands Integrity.
Slowing down is needed at this time as typical Gemini energy is quicksilver, lightning fast, but we cannot absorb and digest this information in a discerning manner unless we slow it down. This would imply that before we share new information to a friend or on to social media, do your research, fact check; even if only for yourself to discern if the information is really true for your inner spiritual being. It is also very good if you have like minded people around you that you can bounce ideas off of, without judgment and hear their opinions on those topics you are very excited about.
During my salt bath this morning, in preparation to write this article, I heard that my information was coming from “ADELPHI”. I thought, huh, “This is new”, “Who or What is Adelphi?” I immediately think Ancient Greece. I Google the word and all I can find is a University with that name, however, what is very interesting is their Crest or Symbol. Within that symbol is written THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE US FREE. I cannot make that up!!! Exactly! That is what the North Node in Gemini is all about. It also includes the Latin verse “Vita Sine Litteris Mors Est” or Life without Learning is Death. We are all learning. Lean into it, open to it and grow. Also, Delphi was Ancient Greece and the religious sanctuary of the god Apollo, who was a healer and prophet, musician and poet (Sounds very Gemini-like), no coincidence that Hermes (Mercury) is the half brother of Apollo. I just find it interesting this information came to me just before writing this article, sending me down the Greek and Roman Mythology rabbit hole for a moment.
As an Astrologer and Intuit, I can only guess, assume and channel what this new energy may bring to us. As an Astrologer, I look at the themes of Gemini and the Third House. These would be the areas that we need to explore for change and truth during this period. Gemini rules the nervous system, which includes the shoulders, lungs, arms, hands, and fingers. Gemini as “the twins,” demonstrates the duality of these body parts, two of each, split right down the middle. Gemini is prone to carpal tunnel syndrome, anxiety, nervous or fidgety problems, smoking-related illnesses, and breathing issues. Interesting as we are dealing with these physical aspects right now as I am writing this. Geminis are the rulers of communication, logical thought process through duality and discernment and the conscious mind. Ruled by the element of Air, their thoughts and words flow freely.
Third House Rules- what lives in this house? With Gemini residing as the overlord, obviously we have the mind, words, communication; writing, thoughts and ideas. Mercury is movement and it moves along the air, therefore, travel, small trips and the neighborhood where you live, where you grew up. Our relationships with our siblings, friends that are sibling- like and cousins. Elementary education and basic learning lives here as this is where we begin to expand our minds and thoughts. Intelligence and analytics and the process of thinking begins here too. The daily chatter lives here; gossip, news,accidents, speech and speeches, publicity and public announcements.
I would expect that we will hear quite a bit from all sides. Oh, there will be tons of news and public announcements. There will be gossip and talking, but best of all, people may actually begin thinking for themselves and changing their beliefs or solidifying their beliefs. They will spread their truths to their friends, neighbors and close relatives and possibly co-workers. Their will be even bigger splits and also, bigger connections within our right tribes and communities. Expect to leave some that you have cared about and loved for a long time behind as they will no longer resonate with you.
I feel that devices; our phones, computers, televisions as well as automobiles all fit into this North Node in Gemini category. What do these devices connect to? Social Media, The Media at large, the News, Newspapers for those that prefer them, our “Programming” and what is being fed to us through our cable providers and streaming servicing or antennas; cannot leave out all of the commercial programming that is shoved in between what we are trying to see and hear. All of this will be highlighted. We are already seeing the Freedom of speech being taken away along with our civil liberties, as YouTube, Google, Facebook continue to remove people just speaking their voices and their personal truth. Does not matter if it is true or real, but to lose the ability to speak is being controlled and we are only being fed what the “powers” want us to hear and see. These are all themes that will stand out for nearly the next two years.
Expect the chaos in these areas over the next 18 months; expect the changes to come afterward when the North Node moves into Taurus January 2022. Similar to the North Node in Cancer, South Node in Capricorn over the past 18 months that was slowly walking away from governments, corruption, institutions, hierarchies, top down leaders, working conditions, the slave to the wage, finance and banking; walking toward the Mother, the nurturer, the family, our homes, kindness, compassion. See how the North and South Nodes over these last 18 months were pushing for this Cancerean energy and the old ways of the Capricorn still struggle to continue to hold on for control, and were are being forced to spend time with our families, work from home and really embrace that nurturing energy! The Capricorn South Node drives us to work ourselves to the bone. It was about the needs of “the system” versus the needs of the individual. The goal would be the Cancer North Node; safety, nourishment, the Earth Mother and the nurturer. As an Astrologer and Intuit, I wished for this, but never expected that this time could actually happen. I imagined what the Cancer/Capricorn aspects would bring, but I really have to laugh that it is actually happening.
Take a look back to May/June 2012 – this was the last time the North Node was in Gemini. How did you change? What changed in your life? What grew and what ended? This North Node picks up where it left off from that time period. Mostly, take this time to figure out your own truth. Expand your minds and beliefs; fact check, learn, share the wisdom and have intelligent conversations, listen more and respect other’s opinions and words- even if you disagree. Most of all, be curious as there is a reason we are in THIS, right here right now!
Pay attention to the Animal Totems around us and personally in your lives during this. time as they will tell you and show you what is going on behind the scenes.
